Tinto Hill Tea Room (ref 1709)

Thankerton, South Lanarkshire

Business location

Overview

  • Price: 15000
  • Tenure: Leasehold
  • Business type: Coffee shop

The Tinto Hill Tearoom enjoys a prominent and visible trading location on the A73 at Thankerton, 7 miles south of Lanark. The A73 is a busy A road connecting the Clyde Valley to the eastern outskirts of Greater Glasgow. The market town of Biggar lies approximately 9 miles to the South.

The premises are close to the village of Thankerton, with the River Clyde winding its way through the nearby countryside close by. The Tearoom is well signposted off the A73 in both directions.

The business is located in the shadow of Tinto Hill. At 711 metres, Tinto is recognised at the highest point in Central Scotland. On a clear day, the peaks of the Lake District and the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland are visible from the summit. This makes the area a haven for walkers. Tinto Hill represents an easier and accessible challenge for outdoor enthusiasts yet remaining very close to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The property is fully detached, located in its own grounds with car parking to side and front. We are advised the business trades with class 3 consent.

Our clients’ circumstances are changing, and they have decided to lease the tearoom, there is now an outstanding opportunity for a person or couple to take on a well renowned opportunity and business. It is strongly felt that the opportunity would suit hands on owners. At present our clients only choose to operate 4 days per week but there is undoubted market for 7 day a week opening.
