Kettledrum Café is situated on East Princes Street in the attractive town of Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. The Isle of Bute is on the Firth of Clyde, stretching 15 miles long and 3 miles wide with the island being separated from mainland Scotland by a narrow channel called the Kyles of Bute. The main route to the island is via a ferry crossing which leads from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay taking around 40 minutes.
Kettledrum Café occupies a prominent location directly opposite the ferry terminal in Rothesay town centre, easily accessible by passing trade and close to other complimentary business.
The business is fitted out to a high standard with good quality fixtures & fittings throughout. There is internal seating for 38 covers with additional outside seating available when the weather permits.
Our clients have owned and operated the Kettledrum Café now for 4 years and have reluctantly placed the business on the market to return to Australia. The café has traded from these premises for 80 years and has long been a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. The café is spacious internally and offers views over the harbour and beyond. The emphasis is on good quality homemade dishes, reasonably priced, with excellent service thrown in.
The café is in excellent order throughout and is set up to continue the hard work the current owners have already put in. Alternatively, the premises would suit an alternative style of cuisine should a new owner wish to do so.
There are just under 3 years left on the current lease. It is expected this could be extended should a new owner wish to do so. Annual rent payable is £6,500 per annum.
